Published on June 25, 2000. This is done by one of the better Hikaru no Go circles out there. The art is quite good and the stories are pretty decent. In this one, there's a tournament and Waya asks Hikaru for a favor (to share the same room as Isumi?) and Isumi kisses Waya on an elevator.

Title: Ken wo Motazuni
Circle: Kissed.B
Art: C
Rating: PG
Pairing: Waya/Isumi
Number of Pages: 48

Other Info:
Published on March 29, 2003. The cover is very pretty. Sadly, the inside art is not that great. It's either mediocre or poor and I don't like it very much. The story is about Waya and Isumi's relationship ... but I can't figure out much more than that.

Title: ???
Circle: Teppendou
Art: B+
Rating: PG
Pairing: Sai/Hikaru
Number of Pages: 32

Other Info:
Published on May 3, 2000. The art for this doujinshi is pretty good. All the characters, especially Hikaru, have a rounder face than usual but it turns out quite cute. I can't figure out what exactly this doujinshi is about but I get the impression that something Mitani says makes Hikaru worry that Sai has disappeared.

Title: Time: Thymus unlgaris
Circle: Rin Rin House
Art: B
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kaga/Hikaru
Number of Pages: 16

Other Info:
Published in May 3, 2003. Reasonably good art, although I've seen better art by Rin Rin House. The story is pretty short. Hikaru invites Kaga to a fireworks display.

Title: Goldfish

Rating: PG
Pairing: Waya/Hikaru
Number of Pages: 28

Other Info:
Published on August 9, 2002. About half of this doujinshi has pretty good art and the other half has so-so art. As for the story, Hikaru has a dream about a goldfish so Waya gives him one as a present. Pretty cute overall.

Title: Kira Kira
Circle: Smile Cat
Rating: PG
Pairing: Mitani/Akari
Number of Pages: 32
Art: Typical Smile Cat art with round, cute faces. This is the earliest Smile Cat book I have and the art is less polished than their later books but it's still good and I do like it, especially in regards to Hikaru no Go.

Other Info:
Published on August 14, 1999. The main story is focused on Mitani, with hints of Mitani/Akari, since she gives him lunch. It's really quite cute, especially the way the other Go members tease him. There's also a few parodies, including one where Yoh from Shaman King shows up.

Title: ???
Circle: Rin Rin House
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kaga/Hikaru
Number of Pages: 36
Art: The art in this is adorable. I just love how cute the characters look. The lines are clean and the characters and backgrounds well done.

Other Info:
Published on August 9, 2002. There are two main stories in this doujinshi. In the first one, Hikaru and Kaga talk after conflict with Mitani and the Go club. In the second one, Waya and Isumi tease Hikaru and he goes to Kaga for comfort.

Title: Independent
Circle: E.R.F., Miracle Love
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Waya/Isumi
Number of Pages: 32
Art: The art is pretty good. It's not the best I've seen but it's still good.

Other Info:
Published on November 4, 2002. Comic/Novel. Waya and Isumi go to an onsen and are interrupted mid-kiss by an old man. There's also a short story about their friendship.

Title: Rapunzel
Circle: Tachikazekan
Rating: R
Pairing: Mitani/Akari, Hikaru/Akari
Number of Pages: 20
Art: The art in this is okay. It's not spectacular but it's decent.

Other Info:
Published on December 29, 2000. This is actually a rather sad story. It looks like Akari has realized that Hikaru will never return her feelings and goes to Mitani and tries to seduce him. Mitani realizes that Akari is trying to use him and he does his best to help her, while not taking advantage. Even though the art in this isn't as great as some other series, the story looks to be quite good.

Title: ???
Circle: Tokkankoujiroh Ohjiroh Gumi
Rating: R
Pairing: Hikaru/Akira
Number of Pages: 56
Art: The art in this is really good. The cover is amazing. The shading for a lot of it looks like it may have been done using a computer, which I think helps make it look realistic but isn't typical for most doujinshi.

Other Info:
Published on August 9, 2002. Comic/Novel. Most of this doujinshi is a love story between Akira and Hikaru set in the Heian era (thus the clothing on the cover). There's also a novel section with some nice illustrations.

Buy: E-mail drmm@fuuko.com.
