Shisenden
Doujinshi
(aka the page where DrMM fangirls)
So, what should I say about Shisenden? Well, Shisenden has the best Harry Potter doujinshi in existence. While there are other Harry Potter circles I love, none of them can compare to Shisenden. The artwork is consistently beautiful and amazing -- even the "Green Cheese" doujinshi, which are mainly novel, have some great artwork. They tend to be expensive for Japanese doujinshi at the used doujinshi stores (2000-4000 yen, most are 200-800 yen). Why? Well, the artists draw professional yaoi manga. I've even seen an artbook for their yaoi manga. I love this circle. I really, really love their art. Apparently their main artist lives in a city less than 20 minutes from me. I keep wanting to discover who it is and beg them to draw a Snape doujinshi ...
Mental note: Must not stalk doujinshi artists.

Title:
Synodic Month Circle: Shisenden Art: A++ Rating: PG Pairing: Sirius/Lupin Number of Pages: 140 Other Info: Published on December 29, 2001. Comic/novel. This is simply the best Sirius/Lupin doujinshi in existence. It starts before Prisoner of Azkaban with Lupin reading in the paper about Sirius's escape and there's a bit of angst and guilt when he gets to Hogwarts. Then, there's the happy ending that takes place after the book ends. There's also a short novel and another angst-ridden Lupin story about his depression over being a werewolf. This doujinshi is simply amazing. |

The Moon is Made of Green Cheese Circle: Shisenden Art: A/B Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Sirius/Lupin Number of Pages: 48 Other Info: Published on December 29, 2001. Comic/Novel. The inside art for this doujinshi isn't as good as some other Shisenden doujinshi. The cover is beautiful and the illustrations for the novel are also great. Unfortunately, the comic section has fairly sketchy art -- as if it were drawn in a hurry. That doesn't keep this from being a fairly enjoyable doujinshi. It's worth buying simply for the Sirius/Lupin & Harry interactions. There's a great scene where Harry walks in on Sirius & Lupin ... The look of horror on Sirius's face makes me laugh every time I see it. |

Lagrangian Points Circle: Shisenden Art: A++ Rating: PG Pairing: Sirius/Lupin Number of Pages: 86 Other Info: Published on June 16, 2002. Fanbook #3. Comic/Novel. One color page (Sirius). There are two comic stories in this book. The first story is a sad post-PoA story. The second is a Marauders story where they have to deal with Lupin's werewolf side. Again, amazing art from Shisenden and a doujinshi well worth buying. |

The Moon is Made of Green Cheese II Circle: Shisenden Art: B/A Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Sirius/Lupin, Ron/Harry Number of Pages: 40 Other Info: Published on April 29, 2002. Comic/Novel. Despite the fact that a lot of the art is sketchy in this doujinshi, the comic makes me giggle every time I look at it. The interactions between Sirius, Lupin and Harry are brilliant. Sirius gets jealous when Lupin and Harry are close, something they know quite well. There's also a cute Ron/Harry story and several really nice illustrations. I particularly enjoy the illustration of Harry and Ron flying while singing the Aladdin song "Magic Carpet Ride" but singing "Magic Broom Ride" instead. |

Title:
Flame of Wing Circle: Shisenden Art: A++ Rating: PG Pairing: Sirius/Lupin, Harry/Ron Number of Pages: 38 Other Info: Published on September 23, 2003. Fanbook #5. Comic. The story is set during a summer vacation (I think). Ron comes to visit the happy Sirius/Lupin & Harry family. While he's there, they have to deal with certain ... temptations. This isn't as spectacular as Synodic Month or Lagrangian Points but it's still another beautiful doujinshi from Shisenden. |

Design and (rather crappy) layout created by DrMM, January 2003. Harry Potter fanart drawn by Emi and is used with permission. Do not reuse her art without permission. Also, please respect the doujinshi artist and do not use any scan from this site for a layout, icon, etc. Harry Potter is owned by J.K. Rowling, Warner Brothers, Bloomsbury and Scholastic. Not me. I wish I did because then I would be very, very rich.
