Mochiya Doujinshi

I really like Mochiya's doujinshi. They have a style very similar to CLAMP (in fact, they used to draw Card Captor Sakura doujinshi) and I've always been fond of CLAMP art.

Title: Yuumeina Mahoutsukai (Famous Magic User) Circle: Mochiya Art: A Rating: PG Pairing: James/Sirius, Sirius/Harry, Snape/Lupin Number of Pages: 24 Other Info: Published on December 30, 2001. Mochiya's first Harry Potter doujinshi, it's one of my favorite. There are a few short gag stories that amuse me -- Hermione's secret life as a doujinshi artist; Ollivander tries to give Harry the Clow Wand. There's also one story about Sirius -- how upset he is at James' death. I love seeing Harry Potter drawn CLAMP style. It's beautiful.

Title: Mahou no Kakera (A Shard of Magic) Circle: Mochiya Art: A Rating: PG Pairing: Draco/Harry Number of Pages: 28 Other Info: Published on March 17, 2002. I really like Mochiya's work. The characters are beautiful and/or handsome and the stories are pretty cute. This one features the return of Hermione-the-doujinshi-artist, who's angry when the delivery service (delivered by a pelican - -amusing because the symbol of Nippon Express is a pelican) delivers her doujinshi to Hogwarts instead of Tokyo Big Site. There's a few other funny stories and one serious story. In the serious story, Draco is upset (and lonely?) and confronts Harry in the hallway.

Title: Luv is Magic Circle: Mochiya Art: A Rating: PG Pairing: none Number of Pages: 16 Other Info: Published on March 17, 2002. Larger than normal size. This is a fairly cute doujinshi by Mochiya. The story is set during Christmas break; Sirius comes to visit Harry and brings Harry a gift that used to belong to Lily. At least, that's what I can decipher from the pictures.

Title: Sanctuary Circle: Mochiya Art: A Rating: PG Pairing: James/Lily Number of Pages: 36 Other Info: Published on May 3, 2002. This is a cute doujinshi and one of the few that has a story about the James/Lily relationship (yaoi is much more popular). This story talks about how James & Lily meet from both characters point of view. In the James section, he decides to impress Lily by being number 1 in the class; during the Lily section, she's embarrassed when James singles her out during a Quidditch match.

Title: Fantasy Star Circle: Mochiya and some others Art: A/C Rating: PG Pairing: Ron/Hermione (not Mochiya), James/Lily, Sirius/Lily? Number of Pages: 64 Other Info: Published on August 9, 2002. While the story from Mochiya is the largest story in this doujinshi, there are a few other sections done by other artists in this doujinshi. The art from Mochiya is, as usual, wonderful. The other art is, alas, not that great. The story by Mochiya is about the friendship between Sirius and Lily. This upsets some of Sirius's fangirls and Sirius must defend her when they decide to attack her (typical shoujo manga plot device). I'm not sure if Sirius is supposed to have a crush on Lily or not; I'm positive he knows that she likes James.

Title: Eden Circle: Mochiya Art: B+ Rating: PG Pairing: Ron/Harry, Sirius/Harry Number of Pages: 20 Other Info: Published on December 28, 2002. This doujinshi isn't as good as Mochiya's previous efforts. The art is good but not as good. It looks like the artist tried to finish this in a hurry. Storywise, Sirius comes to visit Harry at Hogwarts. When he tries to kiss Harry, Ron comes on the scene and gets a little jealous. There's also a depiction of the Sirius & Snape handshake scene from Goblet of Fire.
