Survived church today. . . . . must say, it sounded like the same old thing I always hear :}

In other news I just took one of the paper crowns from Burger King and taped a Pepsi logo over the BK one. I'm going to give it to my boss as a gag gift tommorow. . . See, my university has a deal with Pepsi and my boss can give free Pepsi to student organizations. This summer he had an excess of Pepsi stock though so he was playing "Pepsi Santa". He later commented that when school was starting again he was going to play Pepsi tzar (the name for the king of Russia) instead of Pepsi Santa when I mentioned getting him a Santa hat and putting a Pepsi logo on it. So I drove by a Burger King today and thought "Ah ha! I'll get one of the paper crowns and put a Pepsi logo on it." Since my boss has the same bizzare type of humor I do I think he'll find it amusing. :)

Ick. I went through my clothes tonight to see what I had that didn't fit or was really to worn out to practically keep any more. I had to get rid of several old dresses and jeans and shorts that didn't fit any more =( I think I need to loose weight....of course, that would require work and I am lazy. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the clothes I'd feel terribly guilty throwing away because they're still good . . .

I'm trying to figure something out? What is up with the Cubs? They've won 14 out of 18 (or something like that) since the All Star break but before that they were a pathetic .400 (aka, they lost a ton more than they won). Of course, as a Cubs fan I'm not complaining... but still it's odd. If they keep this up they might actually be able to catch up with St. Louis and Cincinnati. Of course, that would require a miracle. . . ;)

I went to Omaha again today. Biiigggg mistake. The Warner Brothers store had gotten in a shipment of Harry Potter stuff and I walked out of there having spent $47. Then I went to Toys R. Us.....oops :) I think I'm going to have to take my credit card out of my wallet for a while so I don't spend any more money . . .

My Mom is coming to visit me this Sunday. Yay. :\ The entire reason why she's coming is to make sure I go to church. Yay. Not that I object to church I just don't like it and hate getting up early. And of course one other thing always happens when my family comes. I take down all my anime wall scrolls and posters (or most of them). I couldn't imagine they're horror if they came and saw my walls normally. *sigh* It's just such a pain to do. Maybe I should take a before and after picture to put it on my webpage? ;)

It sounds like it's the death of napster as they were apparently ordered to shut down by midnight tommorow until the court trial. Did it ever occur to the record companies that the reason why people use napster is because the prices of CD's are so damn high? I mean, $17 for a CD is just stupid, especially considering it costs the record companies no more than a dollar to make it. Not only that but a lot of people I know only buy CD's after they listen to the mp3. Now, I don't use napster but I hate to tell this to the music industry but shutting down napster isn't going to stop mp3. You're fighting a loosing battle.

I hate my local radio stations. In my office we have a horrible radio that can get one (the worst) of the two bad stations. I seriously think they have exactly ten songs that they can play. And don't get me started on the stupid radio commercials.... Like I'm actually going to get some herbal weight loss program because a stupid radio guy says that his wife lost fifty pounds with it. If it wasn't for the fact that silence drives me even more crazy I wouldn't even have it on.

I'm trying to decide what it says about my personality that my favorite character in the Harry Potter books is Professor Severus Snape. You know, the really nasty, mean potions professor who's basically a complete bastard . . . But he's such a fascinatingly warped character and I can't help thinking that he's really not that bad. He just needs to learn how to have fun that doesn't involve causing people emotional trauma. ;)

ARG!! I go outside to plug my meter and I see a giant pink envelope. Damnit, I got a parking ticket. I swear that meter person had to be sitting by my car just waiting for my meter to expire. The meter was only withoug money for ten mintues and the ticket was written three minutes after it expired. *sigh* Oh well . . . at least it was only $5. I knew I hated parking in the meters for a reason . . .

I just found out that I got a raise. Humph. How nice of them to tell me :P Oh well......I can use that 25 cents an hour more. More anime for me! :)

Ever have one of those days where you just DON'T feel like working? Well, today is one of those days for me. I've putzed around the office writing useless notes to my boss, checked my mailbox fifty times looking to see if my paycheck stub was there (it finally made it a few minutes ago), looked at about twenty websites instead of working (I can call it "research") and made trips down to my car so I could plug the meter (again!). I'd leave since my boss is in a meeting and would never know...but I need the money. All in all, I'm not having a productive day.

Why do certain neighborhoods have houses that look *exactly* the same? I was going to the store (a different one than normal) and I drove through a neighborhood that had four blocks of the exact same split-level house design. True, there were a few differences in paint color and lawn stuff...but overall it was the same. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.

Argh! I hate parking at my university. Every year since I've been here they remove more parking spaces and raise the permit prices. This summer I decided not to bother to buy a parking pass because I didn't want to pay a fortune for sucky parking. I figured I'd take the bus or park off campus and take the shuttle bus in. Except, today I got up late, missed the bus (our bus system sucks) and ended up parking at the meters so I wouldn't be any later. Those meters eat up quarters so fast it's not even funny and every hour or so I have to go back outside and plug the meters again . . . *sigh* I'll probably have to go get some quarters from the store the next time I need to do laundry. :\

I tried making pancakes today for the very first time. Since I had bought the mix the batter wasn't terribly hard to make (add milk and egg) -- of course, it was kinda lumpy even after I mixed it for ten minutes . . . It was when I tried frying them that I had problems. First, i poured too much batter on the skillet. Then, when I tried to flip it, it was too big and sort of flopped onto the thing in pieces......the next ones were smaller but I scorched them all and since I was using a plastic turner it started melting . . . I knew I hated cooking for a reason.

Not much interesting to talk about today. Got up, watched the Cubs (and they actually won), watched some anime. Oh, I scanned in some of my posters that I couldn't find images for on-line already. I must say, it's hard to do when you have a dinky sized scanner like mine and have to paste the images together. Why? Well, I'm going to put up a page called "My Walls" on the Randomness page. All the posters and wall scrolls I have are going to be put on there for some odd reason . . . ;)

I got my new anime I ordered from Sachi's and Kodocha today (fansub distros). I have a whole 16 tapes to get through. I spent over six hours today watching new anime and I just have to say, Flame of Recca kicks ass.

Grrr....I hate slow drivers. I was driving to the store today to get some Lucky Charms (hey, I love that stuff). Anyway, I got behind two cars that were going six miles under the speed limit side by side. They went this way for ten miles. I mean, seriously, if people want to drive slow they can...but use your brain, be courteous and drive in the RIGHT lane.

So I went to Omaha (it's about fifty miles from where I live, and a lot bigger city) today to visit my sister and my nephew. He's the most adorable baby but he's so big. When my sister took him to the doctor's office a few weeks ago the nurse said he was the size of the average four month old. My nephew will be three months old on July 26th. But he's still a sweetie and has the bluest eyes. I hope they stay blue...I just love blue eyes. I'll conclude by saying he's the most adorable baby . . . oh wait, I already said that.

On the way home I stopped by an Omaha comic book store. I've been there once before and they have the hugest wall of anime to rent. Pity I live too far away to take advantage of it. :P But I did end up getting a Ryo-Okie (from Tenchi) plush doll (that's like a stuffed animal) and a Marmalade Boy poster. I couldn't stop myself. Ryo-Okie is so cute and I've wanted a Marmalade Boy poster but couldn't find any on-line. . . so I spent money. Then I stopped by the outlet mall on the way home because I needed a new pair of jeans shorts. I ended up buying a pair of shorts, a book (DrMM + cheap books = spent money) and two jeans shirts (one short sleeved and one long sleeved). My old long sleeved jeans shirt is starting to fray because I've worn it so much and I've had such a hard time finding a replacement without all the annoying pocket logos, etc. So, I spent way to much money today. Fortunatly it'll be on next months credit card bill.

Well, I've finally gotten around to updating most of the rest of my webpage. I still need to do the links and the "randomness" page but it's mainly done. I must say, rewriting the page about me was a big pain. The last one that I had written was over three years old. I was still 18 in that one. I wonder....should I put a list of some of my favorite TV shows and mention my current Harry Potter interest? Ehhh....I'll wait until I get some stuff up on the randomness and links page first.

Well, the desks are here and my computer is set back up. Whoo hoo! It'll be nice to have a space of my own in the office. And the desk has drawers and corkboard to put stuff up on. *sniff* I'm so happy.

Sad how little it takes to make me happy, isn't it? Now if I could just convince them to give me a raise . . . .

Dr MM bestowed her wisdom upon the unworthy 6:34:17 AM | link |

So I come into work today at 11:30 and all the computers are dismantled and taken down. We're getting two new desks in my office today and yesterday we cleaned out all the old desks so they could be moved. I knew we were going to have to dismantle the computers but I had no idea it was going to be done before I got here. So now until 2 I have no computer to work on and nothing to do. . . I'm using the server at the moment, which I'm really not supposed to do. Oh, and I tried ftping stuff to my personal website and for some reason it's not transferring the images right. I'll have to wait and get the correct computer now.

Oh well. At least I'll have a desk after today. Up until now my computer has been on a cheapo card table....or I'd have to randomly move around to whatever computer was open.

When I go to Wal-Mart because I'm bored does that mean I have no life? Seriously, I went to Wal-Mart tonight at 9 and stayed for a half hour, then dropped by K-Mart on the way home because I was bored and wanted to leave my apartment. Well, that and I wanted to drive my car around because it's finally been cool lately. Until yesterday we had had two weeks of above 90 degree weather (with 80% humidity :P)

Hum, you know, I love tables (as opposed to frames) but you know, they're just so easy to screw up :\ And if anyone views this, I hope they realize that the rest of my 'stuff' page isn't done yet. This was the first page I did. DrMM

Well, I've done it. I started a blog. My friend Selenay will be thrilled. She was the one who started this blogging trend on my IRC channel anyway. Now I just have to: a) hope my boss doesn't find out I did this at work. I love having a job doing webpages and b) hope this thing works :) DrMM

Version 4.0 of Raging Egomaniac features a beautiful image of Fujiwara Sai from the manga/anime series Hikaru no Go. I blame Kya. My interest in this series is all her fault. I hope most people can view this layout correctly. I don't have old browsers on my laptop. This layout took the longest of ANY blog layout I've done - and I'm quite pleased with it.
